I’m Jamie, a hobbyist Knife-maker, I work as a millwright as a day job and also have a background as a machinist. I began making knives because I have one of those fathers that’s hard to get Christmas gifts for and figured a handmade knife would fit the bill. Well, that opened a new interest, and I’ve continued to make knives and other tools related to knives along with leather craft ever since. The whole process feeds my creative monster.
 
I work with high carbon steel and modern stainless steels. I do have some popular designs, like my guide knife, nessmuk and fillet knife, but also can design custom blades from scratch. Most of my designs start in a simple CAD program, so it’s easily shared and edited until a final designs is settled on. 

I use all the regular knife making tools, like a forge, kiln, belt grinds and disc sander to name a few. I’ve made most of my own tools as I get just as much satisfaction from a well built tool as I do a beautifully finished blade.
